Is there a Photerra WordPress plugin?

A plugin with a block and a [photerra_nearby] shortcode is built and in review for the WordPress.org directory. Until it is listed, the one-line embed below does exactly the same thing on any WordPress install — self-hosted or WordPress.com Business and above.

Will it work on WordPress.com?

On the Business plan and above, yes — those allow custom HTML embeds. The free and Personal plans block third-party embeds entirely, which is a WordPress.com restriction we cannot work around.

Does it slow down my site or hurt Core Web Vitals?

No. The loader is under 2 KB, loads asynchronously, and the widget itself renders inside a lazy-loaded iframe — so it never blocks your page render, and it reserves its height up front so it cannot shift your layout.

WordPress strips <script> tags from post content for non-administrator authors (that is KSES, and it is a security feature, not a bug), so paste the embed as an administrator or use a Custom HTML block. If your theme runs an optimizer — WP Rocket’s “Delay JS”, Perfmatters, LiteSpeed, Autoptimize — the snippet already carries data-cfasync="false", which every one of them honours.
