Add it to Shopify in about a minute

  1. In the theme editor, add a Custom Liquid section where you want it.
  2. Paste the one line below.
  3. Save the theme.
Paste this one line
<script async src="https://photerra.com/embed/v1/loader.js" data-hub="pdx" data-layout="grid" data-cfasync="false"></script>

Customize the location, layout, theme and colors — and copy your exact line — in the widget builder.

Custom Liquid sections exist in every Online Store 2.0 theme (Dawn and anything built on it), so no theme-file editing is required and nothing is lost when the theme updates. If you are on a vintage theme, paste the same line into the template through the code editor instead.

Questions

Where should a store put it?
The pages where place matters: an “our story” or “visit us” page, a store-locator page, or the footer of a lookbook. On product pages it usually competes with the buy button rather than helping it.
Does it affect my store’s speed score?
Barely. The loader is under 2 KB and asynchronous, and the widget itself lives in a lazy-loaded iframe — it is not on the critical path for your theme or your checkout.
Does it add any cookies or tracking to my store?
No. The widget sets no cookies and stores nothing in the browser, which also means it does not need an entry in your cookie banner.

Every photo is real travel photography, shown with credit to the person who made it, and we honor each contributor’s privacy choices. It’s free because it helps people discover great places — not because we sell anyone’s data.

The photography behind it

Every photo in the widget is a real place at a real coordinate, contributed by a traveler or drawn from openly-licensed archives — the same corpus behind Photerra’s destination pages.
